First time students must sign up for an assessment test when they register at the Waipahu Community School office. Placement test information will be given at that time. All returning students should register at the Waipahu Community School Office and report to the previous level attended on the first day of classes. Students attending day classes report to Waipahu United Church of Christ. All classes are assessed a $20 registration fee. Although the tuition is free, books are $35(ESL) and $23(ABE).

Community School Diploma Program

If you are going to attend class at the Waipahu Community School:

  • Sign up for Placement Test: December 3, 2012 - January 4, 2013, between 8:00am and 3:00pm
  • Placement Test: January 9 - 10, 2013. Report by 4:45pm to take test.

Test results and class placement will be posted on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 6:00pm. Please do not call the school for results.

The Basic Skills, CB and GED classes will meet on M/W starting on January 28 and ending on March 11. Second session begins on March 13 and runs through April 29. Class hours are 6:30 to 9:00pm.

Textbooks will be sold the first night. Since students will not know their placement until the first night, they should bring $21 for class text. GED book is $21, CB book is $12. A Casio FX-260 calculator, which is used on the GED test will be available for purchase for $10.

All GED preparation classes will be held at the Kapolei and Waianae campuses this term.

Our GED Preparation class is a review of reading, math, writing, and test-taking skills. The class is also designed to give students an overview of the test and it’s format. At the end of the one-semester class, students will take the GED Test .

PLATO is a self-directed online learning system that will assist you in preparing for various tests like the GED, Compass, and ASVAB. It also encompasses extensive Reading and Math skills.
