If you wish to earn a high school diploma,
you will need to take an assessment test. This test
will help determine whether the GED or CB program is
better for you. A Basic Skills Class will be offered
to those students who score below the sixth grade reading
level. This class is a review of basic reading, writing
and mathementics skills.
There are two available ways to earn
a High School diploma at the Community School for
Adults.

High School Diploma Program (CB) (30 Hours for
each unit) CB is a three semester life-skills
program consisting of five units. Students must pass
all unit tests, a CB mastery test and fulfill one
of three career goals to earn a diploma. Mastery test fee: $5.
2. General Education Development
(GED) Preparation (55 hours) is a review of reading,
math, writing and test taking skills; At the end of
the one-semester class, students will take the GED test.
The GED test battery includes 5 tests, each measuring
the major skills considered being the outcome of a high
school diploma. The student must pass the GED test with
an average of 450 for the combined five tests with no
score less than 410 on any one test.
If you wish to earn a High School diploma,
you will be required to first take a placement
test. This test will determine whether
